Love a Village is a small grassroots organization dedicated to eliminating the grip of extreme poverty in the northern region of Malawi. With an aim to empower villagers using a holistic community-based approach, we are working to give them the ability to create independence and self-sustainability for themselves.
Our mandate is to equip them through collaboration, and education with a holistic approach in the following 5 areas of basic need: water, food, housing, hygiene, education. Their cycle of poverty can be broken by empowering families to stay healthy by gaining the skills, knowledge and training needed to become independent & self-sustainable.
Our work is a response to the message from the Bible that “God is love” (1 John 4:8), and that those who trust and love Him will “love (their) neighbours” as themselves (Matthew 22:39). More specifically, we reflect the priority the Bible places on serving the poor in passages such as James 1:27, “to visit orphans and widows in their affliction.” Love a Village has made a long-term commitment to develop solutions that will have a lasting impact. We work with local leaders uncovering resources and empowering our Malawian friends to change their communities and flourish.
